How It All Started

Founded in 1988 by Florida-based brothers David & Jeff Stone, the very first race the team competed in was the IMSA Firestone Firehawk race at Road Atlanta in 1989. They won.

Actually, It Goes Back Further than That

The story started with Porsche enthusiast Rich Moskalik, his wife Kathy Kellogg, and racer David Stone.

After noticing track-prepared Porsches coming through their shop with work that did not meet his standards for performance and safety, David saw an opportunity. Rich told him to fix it. Before long, Rich asked David to move to Wisconsin and build a Porsche racing team.

Kellymoss Motorsports was born in May 1988. The name came from the two people who helped start it: Kathy Kellogg and Rich Moskalik.

1989

FIRST RACE. FIRST WIN

Kellymoss entered its first professional race at the IMSA Firestone Firehawk event at Road Atlanta.
They won.
For a young team still finding its way through professional racing, it proved that the idea worked and established a pattern that would define Kellymoss for decades to come.

BECOMING A CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM

Kellymoss entered Firestone Firehawk competition full time in 1990 and immediately captured both the Drivers and Team Championships.
After narrowly missing another title in 1991, the team came back stronger. In 1992, Kellymoss won eight of ten races and finished second in the other two, earning another Drivers and Team Championship.
Its development of the Porsche 944 S2 also caught Porsche's attention and helped influence the seven special cars that became known as the "Super 7."

THE YEAR THAT TESTED EVERYTHING

Success brought greater factory involvement from Porsche and two 911 Turbos for the Bridgestone SuperCar Series.
On paper, it looked like another major step forward.
Instead, Kellymoss crashed out of eight of ten races.
It was one of the hardest seasons in company history. The team learned, rebuilt and came back.

FROM THE HARDEST YEAR TO ONE OF THE GREATEST

Porsche stayed behind Kellymoss, supplying two 911 Turbos, factory support, technology and funding for SCCA World Challenge competition.
Before the season even began, one of the new cars crashed during testing at Sebring.
The team rebuilt it, headed to Miami and won the Miami Grand Prix in a torrential downpour.
By the end of the year, Kellymoss had won the World Challenge Championship. Price Cobb became the first American driver to win the Porsche Cup, with Kellymoss becoming the first American team to do the same.

TURNING A RACE TEAM INTO A RACING BUSINESS

When Porsche shifted its factory resources toward GT1, Kellymoss adapted.
The team became an early pioneer of what is now known as Arrive and Drive, giving serious amateur racers access to complete race preparation, transportation, maintenance, coaching and track support.
Kellymoss also remained connected to Porsche at the highest level, providing logistics support for Porsche AG's factory GT1 program at Sebring and Laguna Seca in 1997.

EXPANDING THE MISSION

As customer racing grew, so did Kellymoss.
Racing remained the proving ground, but the same engineering, fabrication and preparation mindset began moving beyond competition cars into road cars, restorations and special projects.
In 2008, Kellymoss added another professional championship with Tony Rivera.

BUILDING A BUSINESS AROUND THE RACING DNA

Kellymoss moved into a substantially larger Madison operation, bringing race preparation, engines, fabrication, composites, paint and body work, and vehicle development together under one roof.
That same year, Victoria Thomas began working with Kellymoss as a business consultant. Her role expanded from finance into strategy, organizational development and the long-term direction of the company.

BACK ON TOP

Colin Thompson and Kellymoss captured the IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Drivers and Team Championships in 2014.
A year later, they moved into World Challenge and won again.
2015 also marked the loss of cofounder David Stone, whose commitment to learning, competition and doing the work properly had helped shape Kellymoss from its earliest days.
That same period brought engineer and racer Andy Kilcoyne into the organization, helping lay the technical foundation for its next era.

DEVELOPING DRIVERS, NOT JUST CARS

Jesse Lazare captured the 2016 IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup championship.
Jake Eidson followed with the GT3 Cup title in 2017, while Colin Thompson earned an IMSA Prototype Challenge championship.
In 2018, Alan Metni added the IMSA Masters championship.
The philosophy was becoming clear: develop the car, develop the driver and develop the team around them.

FINISHING THE GT3 CUP ERA AT THE FRONT

Roman DeAngelis won the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA title in 2019, while Alan Metni captured championships in both the US and Canada.
In 2020, Jeff Kingsley took another Drivers Championship, Metni earned another Masters title and Kellymoss again won the Team Championship.
The final GT3 Cup Challenge era ended with Kellymoss exactly where it had spent much of the previous decade: at the front.

A NEW OWNERSHIP ERA

Victoria Thomas and Andy Kilcoyne became owners of Kellymoss.
Andy brought engineering, design and vehicle development. Victoria brought financial discipline, strategy, culture and vision.
The goal was not to replace what had come before.
It was to build on it.

A NEW PORSCHE CHAMPIONSHIP, THE SAME RESULT

Porsche Carrera Cup North America launched in 2021.
Kellymoss won the very first race.
By the end of the inaugural season, Sebastian Priaulx was the first Pro Drivers Champion and Kellymoss was the first Team Champion in series history.
More than 30 years after winning its first professional race, Kellymoss had done it again.

WINNING ACROSS THE PORSCHE PYRAMID

In 2022, Kellymoss captured another Carrera Cup Team Championship while Alan Metni earned the Pro-Am title. Sebastian Carazo added the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America 992 Championship.
Then came 2023.
Riley Dickinson won the Carrera Cup Pro Championship, Efrin Castro captured Pro-Am and Kellymoss earned another Team Championship.
The organization was no longer simply preparing championship-winning cars. It was building championship programs.

THE STANDARD CONTINUES

The names and cars continue to change. The standard does not.
Kellymoss continued adding titles and developing talent across Porsche competition, while drivers at every stage of their careers competed within the same organization.
Different cars. Different championships. Different generations.
The expectation remains the same.

Pioneering for Amateur racers

By the mid-1990s, Kellymoss had turned years of professional racing expertise into something new for serious amateur drivers.

The Arrive and Drive model gave clients everything they needed to compete: preparation, transportation, maintenance, track support, coaching, hospitality and logistics.

The driver could arrive and race. Today, that model is an established part of customer motorsports. Kellymoss was helping define it decades ago.

RACING FOR SOMETHING BIGGER

Since 2017, Kellymoss has raced alongside Racing for Children's, carrying the handprints of children undergoing treatment for cancer and blood disorders on its race cars.

Along the way, Jake Eidson, Roman DeAngelis, Jeff Kingsley, Michael McCarthy, Riley Dickinson, Loek Hartog and Karel Staut have all carried that mission to championship success with Kellymoss.
But winning was never the only point.

The program gives children a car to recognize, drivers to cheer for, races to anticipate and a team that carries their handprints with them every time it takes the track.

What began as a racing partnership has become part of the Kellymoss family.

BUILT FOR WHAT'S NEXT

Today, Kellymoss operates from an 80,000-square-foot facility in Madison, Wisconsin, bringing racing, engineering, fabrication, composites, interiors, graphics and bespoke Porsche builds together under one roof.

With more than 100 Porsche projects in progress, 135 team members and 53 National Championships, Kellymoss has grown far beyond the small racing operation that began in 1988. Under owners Andy Kilcoyne and Victoria Thomas, the scale has changed. The standard has not.

THE STORY IS STILL BEING WRITTEN

Live the Dream!

Kellymoss was built on the belief that there is always a better way to prepare, develop and compete.

Nearly four decades later, that same belief still drives what comes next, on the track, in the shop and in every Porsche we touch.
