2005 brought a welcomed and huge upgrade to the Porsche 911 platform fans had been looking for since the launch of the 996. Upgrades to the 997 Porsche 911 included a chassis that is structurally stiffer, revised suspension, wider track, updated brakes and more use of high tech materials.
This 2005 911 Carrera was purchased by the current owner with an engine issue, but with a lower milage chassis and interior showing very well, a certified used engine was also bought as a replacement. The chassis has 64,965 miles and the certified replacement motor has 51,000.
All work on the car was done by Porsche specialists Kelly-Moss Road and Race who replaced the engine and went over every touch point while the motor was out. For some extra pep and a little grunt, a Fabspeed Exhaust plus K&N filter were added to get the Carrera breathing a bit better. For the corners, AST / Moton Dampers with Michelin tires were added to not only give the car a more aggressive look, but also increase road feel in turns while increasing ride comfort at the same time. Adding a lighter set of wheels around all corners, a new set of Michelin tires and a custom satin Wine Red wrap was installed in-house to complete the look! Kelly-Moss Road and Race has been in the Porsche business for over 30 years and did an outstanding job bringing this 997 back to life.
