In 1999, Lazzaro won the 24 Hours of Daytona driving a Porsche 911 in class GT3. In 1998 he finished fourth in the KOOL/Toyota Atlantic Championship, winning at Road America, Laguna Seca and Houston. In addition to winning those races, he won the Jovy Marcelo Sportsman Award, posted fasted race laps at Gateway and Mid-Ohio and won two poles at Gateway and Road America.
